After more than 20 years working with a gender perspective, we continue to focus on placing gender equality as one of our focuses and one of our Just Causes for which we work.
Unequal power relations, inequality gaps from a gender and intersectional perspective and the persistence of the violation of rights, especially of women, girls or non-normative people, remain evident within the framework of the current hegemonic development model.
Together with other organizations from the global South and North we want to promote equality and non-discrimination based on gender or other variables, through the empowerment of women, the transformation of patriarchal culture, education and the modification of roles associated with gender, so that all people recognize the richness of each gender and are respectful of its diversity.

The 2024-2029 gender policy aims to make visible ALBOAN's commitment both institutionally and transversally to gender equality and contribute to the achievement of a horizon of gender equality for all people. It is deployed in 3 main strategic lines:
Livable and co-responsible organization
ALBOAN deploys its mission from feminist and care perspectives, contributing to gender justice in a co-responsible manner..
Diversity and intersectionality
To respond to existing realities (inequality, diversity and intersectionality), it is necessary to build new models that start from unlearning, renouncing privileges and taking on new challenges..
Zero tolerance towards sexist violence

Peace Bridge
Guatemala: Non-profit organization working for social justice in Ixcán, Guatemala. Accompany indigenous women in the defense of their rights, especially the right to health.
Serjus
Guatemala: social organization to support the recovery of communities affected by the internal armed conflict. Her work focuses on defending the rights of indigenous women, especially in the K'iche' region.
IWID (initiatives women in development)
India: Indian feminist organization that works to promote the rights of impoverished and discriminated women. Its programs include access to land, agroecological agriculture, governance and prevention of violence against women and girls.
Intelta Cutivalú
Peru: organization that works for gender equality in the Piura region. It has been key in the formulation and implementation of public policies with a gender perspective, as well as in the prevention and attention to violence against women.
Augustinian educational services
Peru: Peruvian organization that accompanies women in their fight to achieve the full exercise of their rights. Her work focuses on training, empowerment and political advocacy for women.
AFEM (Association des femmes des médias du Sud Kivu).
DRC: Congolese women's media organization, uses Mama Radio to promote women's rights, gender equality and peacebuilding.
Fondation pélagia muhigirwa (FPM)
RDC: non-profit organization that works to empower women in collaboration with AFEM. Its focus is on training, awareness and female leadership.
Synergie des femmes pour les victimes des violences sexuelles (SFVS)
DRC: Congolese organization that works to promote the well-being, autonomy and social integration of women and girls survivors of sexual violence.
Femmes Engagées pour la Promotion de la Santé Intégrale (FEPSI)
Peru: created in 2000 by 15 women, it is a philanthropic organization in Peru that provides comprehensive care to women survivors of sexual violence and HIV/AIDS.
CAFOB (Collectif des associations et ONG féminines du Burundi)
Burundi: network of women's organizations working to promote gender equality and women's rights. Its objectives are to increase women's participation in decision-making, reduce gender violence and promote women's autonomy.
Wayra Association
Peru: organization that works to promote and defend the rights of children and adolescents, especially in the care of children and adolescents who are victims of violence and human trafficking. It also develops gender violence prevention strategies.
Faith and Joy
Fe y Alegría is an international education movement that works with impoverished and excluded sectors. Its gender initiative seeks to promote gender equality and equity in education.
Co-education
Through coeducation we seek to eliminate all the discriminatory mechanisms present in the school, both those referring to its formal structure and those related to its ideology and educational practice. The ultimate goal of a co-educational school and also that of a co-educational free-time youth organization is to generate citizens capable of taking charge of their reality, both in the productive and social and family spheres. People capable of freely choosing their life project and taking care of themselves, their peers and their natural environment.
