Karen Paredes, a Honduran journalist, brings the voices of her country’s women’s rights activists to Navarre

Latin America remains one of the most dangerous regions in the world for those who defend the environment and the land. In Honduras, the risk is particularly high: in 2023, more than 450 attacks on human rights defenders were recorded.
To shed light on this reality, Alboan is welcoming Karen Paredes Pineda to Navarre. Karen is a journalist and media professional, and the communications coordinator at ERIC–Radio Progreso (Honduras). Committed to social justice and the defence of the commons, Karen has built a solid professional career as a journalist, producer and university lecturer.
During her visit, Karen will take part in several meetings with organisations and members of the public, as well as a programme of events open to the public in Pamplona, Tudela and Ansoáin.
